Start The Barter is a peer-to-peer trading marketplace. There are no coins, no tokens
and no in-app currency: you list what you have — a microwave, a cord of firewood, a
day of mechanical work, a jar of pole bean seed — say what you'd like in return, and
trade directly with the person on the other end.
How a trade works
Post what you have to trade, with photos and your general area.
Someone makes an offer of their own goods, skills or time.
You talk it over in the app and adjust the terms until it's fair.
Both of you tap Accept Trade, then sort out the handover between yourselves.
Leave each other a star rating and review.
Free and Pro
The free membership covers browsing, posting, matching, negotiating and completing
trades, supported by ads. Pro is $14.99 a month: no ads, a Verified Trader badge, top
placement in search results and an automatically generated trade contract for the
deals you agree.
Automatic matching
Post firewood and want vehicle repairs, and the app alerts you when a mechanic nearby
is looking for firewood. Matching works on what you offer, what you want and how far
you're willing to travel.
